Little Boss's Lemonade Stand

Become a Little Boss and run your own lemonade stand.

Lemonade Stand is a turn-based audiogame that introduces young people to the world of business by running a lemonade stand. You control everything from selecting your location, ordering and managing supplies and advertising around the neighborhood to mixing the perfect lemonade recipe and setting your prices. There are three playing modes and three difficulty levels to challenge even the savviest of entrepreneurs.

This edition is a ground-up rebuild on wxPython. The menus, dialogs and reports are native, on-screen controls that your screen reader already knows how to read, so the game works with your screen reader of choice right out of the box. A built-in spoken narrator is still available for anyone who wants text read aloud immediately, but it's optional, not required.

What's new in the wxPython Edition

• Native support for JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, Orca and other screen readers, with no special setup required.
• An optional built-in spoken narrator, independent of your screen reader, with adjustable rate, volume and voice.
• Accessible sliders for music and speech volume: up increases, down decreases, and the new value is announced as you move it.
• A toggle for how detailed the daily sales report is, changeable any time from the Options menu.
• An updated game manual to match.

System requirements

• About 80 MB of disk space.
• Windows: 64-bit Windows 10 or later. Windows 7 is no longer supported.
• Working speakers or headphones are optional — the game is fully playable in silence.

The game is self-voicing by default, and also works with your preferred screen reader, including JAWS, NVDA, System Access, SuperNova and other Dolphin products, PC-Talker, and (on Linux) Orca.

Installing on Windows

Download the installer below and run it. Read the license terms and accept them if you agree, then follow the wizard. The game installs to your AppData folder by default and launches when installation finishes.

Portable version

For the portable version, extract the downloaded zip file to any folder you like, then run the Little Boss's Lemonade Stand program inside it.
